Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residential Care Specialist to join our team at Southeastern Integrated Care LLC. As a Residential Care Specialist, you will provide direct care to children in our residential treatment program, creating a safe and therapeutic home-like environment that promotes positive growth and development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer therapeutic treatment to clients, including mental health support and documentation based on service goals and plans.
  • Plan, provide, and supervise daily activities to build self-esteem and appropriate peer interaction for each client.
  • Document significant events and behavior in process notes, ensuring effective communication with team members.
  • Directly supervise clients, promoting a positive and structured environment.
  • Administer medication, following successful completion of probation, supervisor's recommendation, and passing medication administration training and testing.
  • Plan and document visits and/or telephone calls, adhering to each client's visitation/telephone schedule.
  • Build safe and positive relationships with clients, using basic principles of reality therapy without punitive approaches.
  • Develop mutually respectful relationships with clients and their families, understanding cultural diversity to better serve our clients.
  • Appropriately intervene to meet clients' needs, addressing issues or problems as they arise.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members, teaching and modeling healthy and safe relationships.
  • May be responsible for directly supervising clients with sexualized behaviors.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or associate degree, with a minimum of two years of population-specific experience working with children ages 12-17 with emotional difficulties.
  • Four-year degree in Human Services or a related field preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record, as well as the ability to respond effectively in a stressful environment.
  • Pass a drug screening test and an extensive background check.
Physical Requirements

This role requires frequent physical tasks, including standing, walking, running, stooping, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting individuals, which demands strength, coordination, endurance, and agility. The employee must maintain sufficient physical agility and stamina to intervene with violent, unruly, or uncooperative children and adolescents.
