Key Responsibilities- Conduct Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct thorough assessments of individuals' substance abuse needs, taking into account the complex relationship between substance use and mental health.
- Develop Treatment Plans: Collaborate with clients to develop personalized treatment plans that promote harm reduction and abstinence, with the ultimate goal of achieving recovery.
- Facilitate Access to Resources: Connect clients with community resources, including 12-step groups and other support services, to ensure they receive the support they need to achieve their goals.
- Provide Education and Support: Educate clients on the risks associated with substance abuse and provide ongoing support to help them maintain their recovery.
- Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Teams: Work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure that clients receive comprehensive care that addresses their physical, emotional, and social needs.
- Document Client Progress: Accurately document client progress, including treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, to ensure that clients receive continuity of care.
- Education: Minimum High School Diploma
- Certifications: CCS, CSI, LCAS, LCAS-A, or CADC (full certification required)
- Skills: Strong clinical skills, ability to work with diverse populations, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
The Substance Abuse Specialist will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, providing care to clients in a variety of settings, including their homes and community-based locations. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team-based environment, communicate effectively with clients and colleagues, and maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
