At UW Health, we are seeking a Senior Medical Lab Technician/Medical Technologist - Microbiology to join our team. This part-time position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and advancing their careers in the clinical laboratory.

About the Role

This 20 hour per week, 1st shift position requires strong decision-making skills, ability to work independently, and the ability to take on teaching/training responsibilities as needed. The ideal candidate will have experience performing moderate and some high complexity testing in a clinical laboratory and have successfully completed competency assessments.

The salary range for this position is $43,654 - $73,652 annually, based on qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform testing in the clinical laboratories (any complexity)
  2. Perform advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and problem resolution
  3. Demonstrate strong decision-making skills, ability to work independently, and the ability to take on teaching/training responsibilities as needed
Requirements

To be eligible for this position, applicants must have:

  • A minimum of an Associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology
  • One year of experience performing moderate and some high complexity testing in a clinical laboratory and successful completion of competency assessment
