We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Energy Strategy Manager to join our AWS Energy Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive utilities strategy for AWS data centers in the Americas.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive utilities strategy for AWS data centers in the Americas.
- Manage multiple utilities, EPC, and Owner's Engineers to deliver MV and HV power infrastructure, including negotiations and contracting.
- Develop and execute energy strategies that leverage capital projects (utility grid connections, high voltage substations, energy storage, etc.) to reduce long-term energy costs.
- Manage capital budgets for electrical infrastructure and energy projects.
- Work collaboratively with Amazon's CFE/RE team to support the development of strategic energy sourcing opportunities.
- Execute electricity supply contracts that create new clean energy capacity on the grid (through utilities), reduce cost, minimize risk, and leverage opportunities that benefit Amazon.
- Manage a portfolio of complex energy projects.
- Collaborate with internal teams and regulated utilities on the implementation and management of energy projects to meet business timelines.
- Identify and develop innovative cost-saving projects (capital and operational) and initiatives related to energy infrastructure and supply.
- Responsible for completing due diligence on in-market opportunities and developing those opportunities into cost savings for the business.
- Work with utility regulators to develop policies and guidelines that enable broader AWS strategies and objectives.

Requirements- Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) required in Engineering/Business or other technical field.
- 7+ years of experience working in the utility/energy industry in a commercial/business development or technical role.
- 1+ years of experience analyzing energy projects and negotiating interconnection agreements and related contracts with utilities and contractors.
- 2+ years of experience managing multiple million-dollar power infrastructure contracts with external stakeholders to drive projects to completion.
- 1+ years of experience developing and delivering Medium Voltage and High Voltage electric infrastructure projects in a planning or project management role.
