About this Role:
Denver Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate Secondary Special Education Teacher to join our team. As a Special Education Teacher, you will play a critical role in ensuring that students with diverse learning needs receive the support and accommodations they require to succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to the unique needs of students with special education requirements.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and other support staff to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive learning environment.
- Provide direct instruction, accommodations, and modifications to students with special education needs, as outlined in their IEPs.
- Monitor and assess student progress, making data-driven decisions to inform instruction and adjust IEPs as needed.
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and other stakeholders to ensure that students receive the support they need to succeed.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in special education and to enhance instructional skills.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) teaching license with a special education endorsement.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
