Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the City of Albemarle, NC. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, protecting life and property, and providing excellent customer service to our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect crime, and to enforce laws and regulations.
  • Respond to emergency calls, investigate incidents, and provide assistance to the public.
  • Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and testify in court as needed.
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies and community organizations to build relationships and address public safety concerns.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices and procedures.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some law enforcement training or experience preferred.
  • Valid North Carolina Driver's license and Basic Law Enforcement Certificate required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, make sound judgments, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
