Job Summary:

The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Law Enforcement Officer to join our team. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for upholding the laws of the Commonwealth and providing police protection to the campus and surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide law enforcement services, including response to emergencies, medical assistance, and traffic control.
  • Enforce college parking and traffic regulations.
  • Conduct investigations of incidents, including thefts, accidents, and other crimes.
  • Provide information and directions to the campus community.
  • Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies to ensure a safe and secure environment.

Requirements:

  • DCJS law enforcement certification for the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a college or municipal police environment.
  • Community policing experience.
  • Proven knowledge of law enforcement principles and procedures.
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
