Job Summary:
The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Law Enforcement Officer to join our team. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for upholding the laws of the Commonwealth and providing police protection to the campus and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide law enforcement services, including response to emergencies, medical assistance, and traffic control.
- Enforce college parking and traffic regulations.
- Conduct investigations of incidents, including thefts, accidents, and other crimes.
- Provide information and directions to the campus community.
- Collaborate with other law enforcement agencies to ensure a safe and secure environment.
Requirements:
- DCJS law enforcement certification for the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Valid driver's license and good driving record.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a college or municipal police environment.
- Community policing experience.
- Proven knowledge of law enforcement principles and procedures.
- CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
