Job Title: Director of Digital Forensics

At Contact Discovery Services LLC, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Digital Forensics to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for leading our digital forensics efforts and ensuring the high-quality delivery of our forensic service offering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the development and implementation of forensic workflows, including budgeting, resource allocation, and client delivery.
  • Lead a team of digital forensics experts, providing guidance and oversight to ensure the successful completion of projects.
  • Perform forensic data collections and analysis, both on-site and remotely, to identify and preserve digital evidence.
  • Collaborate with project management and other internal departments to complete complex projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Develop and document procedures to achieve industry-standard best practices and ensure chain of custody.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging data sources, process improvement, innovation, leadership, and industry trends to drive forensic technology and Contact Discovery Services strategic initiatives.
  • Assist the sales team in understanding client forensic needs and crafting custom solutions.
  • Generate and distribute reporting metrics and KPIs to team members.
  • Conduct performance reviews and ensure the performance review process is conducted across the team.
  • Advance the marketplace reputation of Contact Discovery Services by speaking at seminars, authoring thought leadership materials, and participating in industry trade groups.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of an undergraduate degree in Digital Forensic Science or Computer Science/Engineering.
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in digital forensics, including scoping activities, evidence acquisitions, and forensic analysis.
  • 5 years of progressively responsible experience in related roles and 5 years of experience with leadership responsibilities.
  • Possess at least one industry-standard certification (EnCE, CCE, CCFE, GCFE, GCFA, CCO, CCPA, CCME, etc.).
  • Experience using industry-standard forensic tools, including Cellebrite, Axiom, EnCase, Relativity Collect, FTK Imager, Logicube Falcon, and Metaspike FEC.
  • In-depth understanding of Apple (Mac)/Windows filesystems, mobile devices, and encryption.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with technical and non-technical clients and team members.
  • Ability to work extended hours when necessary to manage team and client deadlines.
  • Ability to demonstrate superior organizational skills with an acute attention to detail.
  • Ability to document forensic workflows based on sound industry practice.
Preferred Skills:
  • Understanding of the electronic discovery reference model (EDRM).
  • Knowledge of litigation support applications (e.g. Relativity, Nuix, Google Workspace including Vault, Microsoft 365 including Purview, etc.).
  • Experience working with structured data exported from various platforms, including analysis, custom scripting, and data manipulation.
  • Understanding of (Robo/Rich) copy tools, BAT (PowerShell) scripting, and Active Directory permissions.
  • Experience with scripting, programming/coding, database languages (SQL, VB, HTML, Access, etc.).
