The prestigious Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club is seeking a Rooms Controller to enhance our Front Office Team.

As a renowned establishment, we are located in a stunning coastal area, recognized for its vibrant lifestyle and historical significance in California's surf culture.

Our resort spans 175 acres, featuring over 400 luxurious accommodations, extensive meeting spaces, and diverse dining options, including multiple restaurants and lounges.

Classification: Full-Time
Shift: Various - availability required for weekends, weekdays, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities:

The Rooms Controller will serve as the primary liaison for the Front Desk, fostering interdepartmental collaboration. Key duties include:

  • Front Desk Support:
    • Provide assistance to the front desk as needed
    • Optimize room revenue and availability through effective room assignments
    • Handle telephone inquiries professionally for all guests
    • Complete daily Rooms Control Checklist and update as necessary
    • Manage Digital Key Review and Arrival Communication
    • Ensure reservation accuracy and folio integrity
    • Conduct upsell reviews and prepare for the following day
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration:
    • Maintain communication with Housekeeping regarding room status
    • Coordinate with Engineering on room conditions and availability
    • Work with Reservations and Revenue Management to prioritize VIP accommodations
    • Utilize group resumes for proper room assignments and billing accuracy
  • Administrative Support:
    • Utilize advanced computer skills for document management and communication
    • Operate business machines as required
    • Provide additional administrative assistance as directed
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proficient in the primary language(s) used in the workplace
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Typing speed of at least 50 words per minute
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
