Job Overview

Element Care is seeking a highly skilled Activities Specialist II to join our team. This full-time position requires the individual to provide therapeutic recreation services to a diverse population, including designing and implementing new programs, mentoring staff, and collaborating with other teams.

Salary: $45,000 - $55,000 per year, depending on experience.

Job Description:

  • The successful candidate will have a Bachelor of Arts/Sciences in Recreational therapy or related field and minimum 2 years of experience working with the geriatric population.
  • They must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, basic computer skills for use of Outlook, Word, and electronic medical records, and enthusiasm, initiative, creativity, and ability to work in a team environment.
  • This role involves understanding participant needs through comprehensive assessments and creating individualized treatment plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate organized and team-oriented approach to service delivery.
  • Implement group processes to enhance service delivery effectiveness.
  • Create new therapeutic programs and projects.
  • Act as a resource to junior staff members.
  • Plan and implement special events, such as holiday parties, outings, entertainment, and recreational programs.
  • Develop tracking spreadsheets, compile information for reports, and write periodic participant assessments, progress notes, and treatment plans.
  • Initiate quality assurance programs and lead them effectively.
  • Provide mentorship and training to other activities staff on program development.
  • Represent the Activities Department at meetings, communicate daily activity programming, and assist with transportation safety.
