Job Overview

The Family Stability Coach plays a crucial role in delivering case management and direct support to enhance the stability and overall welfare of families in need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive needs assessments for each family on the caseload and establish partnership agreements with measurable objectives to facilitate their success.
  • Work collaboratively with local organizations to help families access community resources and support services, ensuring the availability of current information and specialized assistance as required.
  • Accurately document all interactions and maintain records using an online database, adhering to established protocols and guidelines.
  • Assist the Director of Family Services in the approval process for all financial requests, including loans, scholarships, and emergency funding.
  • Act as an advocate for families, which may involve attending court sessions, hospital visits, and meetings with various agencies, as well as providing letters of recommendation when necessary.
  • Guide families in enrolling in relevant programs offered by Maggie's Place.
  • Initiate and nurture partnerships within the community.
  • Engage in departmental duties, including teaching classes and providing support during program events and activities.
  • Uphold the standards of practice for Family Coaching and Family Success Centers.
  • Participate in an on-call crisis rotation, offering both phone and in-person support as needed, with additional compensation for after-hours calls.
  • Report any suspected child abuse or neglect in compliance with state laws.
  • Undertake additional tasks or projects as assigned by senior management.

Residential Family Coach Duties:

  • Conduct regular office hours in the home, meeting with families at least bi-weekly to focus on productivity and goal achievement, including quarterly drug testing.
  • Dedicate at least one full day each week for educational activities in the home, utilizing the Strengthening Families Protective Factors framework.
  • Provide Triple P parenting and safe sleep training directly within the home environment.
  • Foster effective communication and rapport with AmeriCorps staff.
  • Encourage accountability among mothers regarding productivity and adherence to community guidelines.
  • Coordinate monthly meetings with AmeriCorps members, the Social Service Manager, and the Therapist.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree is preferred, along with a minimum of two years of experience working with vulnerable populations.
  • Ability to represent Maggie's Place positively and professionally in all community interactions.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, time management, and analytical abilities.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong work ethic.
  • A positive, solution-oriented mindset and a collaborative spirit.
  • A commitment to serving in a mission-driven non-profit organization.
  • Availability for some evening and weekend work.
  • Compliance with national and state criminal background checks, sex offender registry, fingerprint clearance, and driver's background checks as mandated by Maggie's Place.
  • Participation in on-call duties is required, with additional compensation for after-hours calls.
