The successful candidate will report to and be mentored by the Chief Commercial Officer and sell containers of commodity beef to foodservice, industrial, and retail accounts in the US.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee sales of all commodity products, including trimmings, thin meats, and various primal cuts.
- Monitor inventory levels across inbound and storage, optimizing where necessary.
- Provide forecasts, inventory, and sold position reports to management, the Australian-based sales team, and customers as requested.
- Liaise with import houses, storage facilities, and logistics companies to execute sales as required.
- Provide direction to Australian-based packing houses regarding shipping locations for all orders.
- Monitor inventory valuations and adjust to reflect current market conditions.
- Occasional interstate travel may be required.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in the Agricultural or Economic sector.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in beef sales, with a preference for overlap between domestic and imported products.
- Experience in the grass-fed and natural beef sector is desirable.
- Intrinsic understanding of protein market analytics specific to the beef industry.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Existing industry relationships.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a steady feedback loop with management.
- Proficiency in the MS Office suite.
- Preference for experience with Parity Factory, Salesforce, and Business Central.
