The Project on Predatory Student Lending (PPSL) is a pioneering legal services practice dedicated to representing former postsecondary students harmed by predatory practices in higher education and vocational training. With a strong focus on impact litigation and advocacy, PPSL aims to create a more equitable, accessible, and just system of higher education and vocational training.
Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly organized and responsive Intake and Engagement Associate to unite our litigation and advocacy program with the client community and external stakeholders. This flexible position can be between 25 to 40 hours per week, and the location is fully remote, allowing the successful candidate to work from anywhere within the United States.
Key Responsibilities- Support PPSL's litigation and client relationships by maintaining records of client communications, working with attorneys to conduct outreach, and escalating individual client issues.
- Support the Advocacy and Policy program by coordinating advocacy and education outreach efforts, tracking and analyzing data, and assisting with proposed legislation and Congressional action.
- Manage PPSL's data by running tailored reports in Salesforce and other platforms, working with litigation and policy teams to anticipate information for data reporting, and performing other duties as assigned.
- High School degree required; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience in legal support, policy, advocacy, data management, administrative, and/or client-facing roles.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office with a strong grasp of Microsoft Excel.
- Highly organized and responsive.
- Willingness to learn and develop skills that will enhance contributions to the team, including new technologies.
- Exceptional listening skills and a strong ability to convey complex information orally and in writing.
- Committed to and passionate about the Project's mission and working with underserved and marginalized communities.
- Enjoy working on multiple different projects and perform well under deadlines.
