Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Night Auditor to join our team at Residence Inn Portland/Scarborough. As a Night Auditor, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our guests, ensuring a seamless and efficient check-in and check-out process, and maximizing room revenue and occupancy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide attentive and courteous service to guests during check-in, throughout their stay, and at checkout.
  • Follow all cash handling and credit policies to ensure accurate and secure transactions.
  • Be aware of all rates, packages, and special promotions to effectively communicate with guests.
  • Be familiar with in-house groups and closed-out dates to ensure accurate room assignments.
  • Take room reservations and follow the rate-quoting scenario to ensure accurate and efficient bookings.
  • Be knowledgeable about hospitality terminology and emergency procedures to provide effective support to guests and colleagues.
  • Handle check-ins and checkouts in a friendly, efficient, and courteous manner, using proper two-way radio etiquette.
  • Operate the Front Desk computer system with proficiency and accuracy.
  • Complete tasks and duties on the shift checklist in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Balance and prepare individual paperwork for closing of shift according to hotel standards.
  • Maintain and market promotions and guest programs to enhance the guest experience.
  • Maintain a clean work area and assist guests with safe deposit boxes.
Requirements
  • College coursework in a related field is helpful.
  • Experience in a hotel or related field is preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Computer experience is required.
  • Customer Service experience is preferred.
  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
  • Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with guests and colleagues.
  • Multitasking and prioritization skills are necessary for meeting deadlines and ensuring efficient operations.
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
  • Maintain regular attendance and high standards of personal appearance and grooming.
  • Comply with hotel standards and regulations to ensure safe and efficient hotel operations.
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity and identify problem areas for implementation of solutions.
  • Effective problem-solving skills are necessary for anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as needed.
  • Ability to understand and apply complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Ability to cross-train in other hotel-related areas.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
  • Ability to show initiative and anticipate guest or operational needs.
