This position provides support to the Development Services and Public Works departments. The Permit Technician will assist citizens, contractors, and developers with applications and permit fees. The successful candidate will answer technical questions regarding building permits and inspections processes.
Key Responsibilities- Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to citizens, contractors, and developers.
- Register contractors and collect and process payment from various departments.
- Print Certificates of Occupancy and schedule inspections (building, rental, etc.).
- Process electrical and gas releases and code and submit invoices for payment.
- Maintain active/inactive case files for the department.
- Issue residential and/or commercial water meters.
- An Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
- Or six months to one-year related experience and/or training.
- Ability to obtain Permit Technician Certification issued through the State of Texas within 6 months.
- A valid Class C driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
