Role Summary: The Maintenance Manager plays a crucial role in managing maintenance operations at the designated production facility within Baily International LLC. This position is pivotal in guaranteeing that all machinery, equipment, and facilities are in optimal condition to ensure production efficiency and compliance with safety regulations. The Maintenance Manager will lead a team of maintenance technicians, collaborate with various departments, and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintenance Oversight:
- Design and execute preventive maintenance strategies to reduce downtime and enhance equipment reliability.
- Manage corrective maintenance tasks to swiftly address equipment malfunctions and breakdowns.
- Organize and prioritize maintenance assignments to minimize production interruptions.
- Team Management:
- Oversee and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, offering guidance, training, and performance assessments.
- Promote a culture of safety, efficiency, and ongoing improvement within the maintenance team.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure all maintenance operations adhere to safety regulations, company policies, and food safety standards.
- Conduct regular safety evaluations and audits to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Budget Oversight:
- Develop and manage the maintenance department budget, including costs for repairs, spare parts, and equipment enhancements.
- Monitor and regulate maintenance expenditures to meet financial goals.
- Equipment and Facility Management:
- Supervise the installation, commissioning, and upkeep of machinery and equipment.
- Ensure the facility is maintained in optimal condition, including essential systems and grounds.
- Vendor Relations:
- Manage partnerships with external vendors and contractors for maintenance services, parts, and equipment.
- Assist the plant's Maintenance Planner in negotiating contracts and service agreements for cost-effective solutions.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify areas for process enhancements and implement best practices to boost maintenance efficiency and reliability.
- Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and advancements in maintenance methodologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance management within a food manufacturing or similar sector.
- Strong understanding of maintenance practices, machinery, and equipment used in food production.
- Exceptional leadership and team management capabilities.
- Proficient in maintenance management software.
- Solid knowledge of safety regulations and food safety standards.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in maintenance management.
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
Working Environment:
- This role involves working in a manufacturing setting, which may expose the individual to loud noises, hazardous materials, and varying temperatures.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be necessary to address urgent maintenance issues.
- Must be able to navigate all areas of the facility and operate company equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs is required.
- May involve prolonged periods of sitting, walking, standing, and frequent need for kneeling, crouching, and reaching.
