Position Summary:

The Campus Safety Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring the well-being and security of the college community. This position is tasked with upholding campus regulations, managing parking and traffic rules, and delivering essential safety services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide guidance and assistance to students, staff, and visitors.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the campus, including buildings, grounds, and parking areas, ensuring all entrances are secure.
  • Respond promptly to service requests and emergencies.
  • Manage access to facilities and monitor alarm systems.
  • Inspect buildings for safety hazards and implement corrective measures as needed.
  • Offer escort services for individuals on campus.
  • Ensure safety during large events such as sports games and graduation ceremonies.
  • Complete training in first aid, CPR, and AED operation.
  • Conduct preliminary investigations of incidents and maintain order.
  • Enforce parking regulations effectively.
  • Utilize safety equipment as required.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement as necessary.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; must be at least 21 years old.
  • One year of relevant experience preferred, but training will be provided.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and clear communication abilities.
  • Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and related software.
  • Strong report writing capabilities.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 130 pounds.
  • Physical stamina for extensive walking, standing, and occasional running.
  • Capability to work in various environmental conditions.
  • Physical readiness to manage altercations and restrain individuals if necessary.
