WI - RN - IMC Surgical Trauma, Progressive Care Unit - Day/Evening Nurse

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Trauma IMC unit at University Hospital in Madison, Wisconsin. The ideal candidate will have experience in IMC and recent acute medical or surgical experience, with a strong focus on providing comprehensive care to patients with multi-system trauma and high acuity surgical needs.
Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care to patients with multi-system trauma and high acuity surgical needs
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
Administer medications and blood products as ordered by the physician
Monitor and manage chest tubes, tracheostomies, and other invasive devices
Perform complex wound care and orthopedic stabilization
Participate in rehabilitation preparation and mechanical ventilation
Monitor central venous pressure and arterial line
Provide moderate sedation as needed
Requirements:
Permanent address outside 50 mile radius of Madison
2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years
Experience in an Academic Level 1 or Level 2 Trauma Center or similar size hospital
WI nursing license or compact license from their permanent address state
BLS & ACLS certification through American Heart Association
Basic Arrhythmia experience
Ability to pass UW Health Telemetry test
