About the Role

The University of Miami is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Gastroenterology team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and Evaluate Patients
    • Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify their medical needs and develop individualized care plans.
    • Evaluate patients' responses to treatment and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Develop and Implement Care Plans
    • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
    • Communicate effectively with patients and their families to ensure they understand their care plans and any necessary instructions.
  • Provide High-Quality Patient Care
    • Deliver exceptional patient care, prioritizing the needs and comfort of each patient.
    • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Teams
    • Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans that meet the needs of patients and families.
  • Maintain Accurate Records
    • Accurately document patient information, including medical history, treatment plans, and outcomes.
    • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and departmental policies.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree required.
    • Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) degree accepted with 2 years of experience.
  • Certifications and Licenses
    • Florida Registered Nurse License.
    • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Experience
    • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a healthcare setting.
