Job Summary
The IT Support Specialist at Emerson Hospital plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our end-user desktop computing environment. Reporting to the ServiceDesk Manager, this position is responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting services to hospital staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, log, and triage support calls to ensure timely resolution of technical issues.
- Provide expert technical support and issue resolution to end-users, including hardware, software, and network-related problems.
- Troubleshoot and repair personal computer-based system access software and security software.
- Identify and resolve issues with terminals, printers, personal computers, and basic network devices.
- Customize personal computer configurations to enhance performance and efficiency.
- Administer Intranet, ticketing, and other Service Desk support systems to ensure seamless support delivery.
- Configure and set up laptops and PCs to meet the needs of hospital staff.
- Manage the creation of new user accounts and maintain user access rights.
- Ensure compliance with patient rights to care, privacy, and respect.
- Collaborate with project teams to execute technical projects and initiatives.
- Participate in the on-call program and respond to technical issues outside of regular working hours.
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Computer Science, Health Care, Electrical Engineering, Nursing, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Minimum one year of experience providing end-user desktop support.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact positively with medical staff under challenging conditions.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and PC hardware.
