Perianesthesia Patient Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Nursing Assistant to join our Perianesthesia team at Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital. As a Perianesthesia Patient Care Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing direct and indirect care to perioperative patients in the preoperative and postoperative areas.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, including vital sign collection, EKGs, and phlebotomy, under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
- Assist with patient procedures, such as transporting patients and securing equipment and supplies.
- Collaborate with the patient care team to identify and mitigate patient safety risks.
- Document patient information accurately and efficiently using Epic EHR.
- Reinforce patient education provided by the nurse and provide basic patient care instruction.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Certified Nursing Assistant, EMT, or current nursing student with completed Fundamentals of Nursing or equivalent med/surgical clinical rotation.
- AHA Heartsaver CPR/AED program required.
- Experience as an emergency medical technician or patient care assistant or nursing student preferred.
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with nursing staff, patients, families/visitors, physicians, and other hospital staff.
