Role Overview:

The Warranty Engineering Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the warranty strategy for gear products, ensuring product quality and customer satisfaction through effective management and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and implement a comprehensive warranty strategy for gear products.
  • Provide specialized knowledge and training to enhance product quality.
  • Coordinate and communicate warranty status with relevant departments.
  • Administer the Warranty Database System to monitor issues and identify trends.
  • Engage with customers to address and resolve warranty-related concerns.
  • Develop and maintain warranty Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
  • Establish Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with operations to expedite the repair process for products.
  • Oversee maintenance of equipment used in warranty activities.
  • Support and guide direct reports to foster a high-performance team.
  • Enhance team capabilities through effective coaching and training.

Accountability Areas:

  • Lead warranty operations and set clear performance expectations.
  • Generate and evaluate warranty reports.
  • Identify root causes of product failures and defects.
  • Manage costs related to warranty assessments.
  • Implement processes for continuous improvement.
  • Direct multiple warranty return processes.
  • Supervise team members and enhance their knowledge and skills.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Over 8 years of engineering experience focusing on warranty for industrial products.
  • Proven experience in supervising engineering teams in warranty or quality assurance.
  • Exceptional communication skills for customer interactions.
  • Strong grasp of mechanical systems and failure analysis methodologies.
  • Ability to make informed decisions regarding defect and failure dispositions.
  • General knowledge of metallurgy and mechanical properties.
