Power Systems Engineer

As a key member of our team, you will oversee all facets of engineering projects, encompassing the design phase, development of construction documents, energy assessments, site evaluations, and contract management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, assess, and optimize electrical energy transmission and distribution frameworks, from utility providers to the interior and exterior of commercial and industrial establishments, utilizing both overhead and underground systems.
- Create detailed engineering diagrams for electrical power transmission and distribution, including equipment layout, tailored for governmental, commercial, and industrial initiatives.
- Design electrical schematics for medium and low voltage distribution systems, including telecommunications, for both new and existing commercial and industrial sites.
- Formulate engineering layouts for interior and exterior lighting systems for commercial and industrial applications.- Utilize analytical and scientific software, along with computer-aided design (CAD) tools such as AutoCAD, to generate all necessary engineering design documents.
- Evaluate electrical energy transmission and load distribution for commercial and industrial construction projects, including fault current assessments of electrical circuits and components.- Determine specifications for essential electrical transmission and distribution apparatus such as transformers, switchgear, meters, conduits, and circuit breakers for commercial and industrial applications.
- Conduct photometric evaluations for both interior and exterior environments, and design specifications for lighting fixtures and related equipment for commercial and industrial projects.
- Estimate project costs for electrical installations and equipment, while managing work planning, scheduling, coordination, and reporting for commercial projects.
- Execute electrical load and voltage drop assessments on single and three-phase AC systems.- Design and specify electrical control systems, including lighting control systems and relays, for commercial and industrial applications.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders, including contractors, utility engineers, lighting manufacturers, architects, and clients, to ensure cohesive electrical engineering designs.
- Maintain comprehensive and precise records of engineering design documents, technical reports, correspondence, and calculations.- Review installation and quality assurance documentation for electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with established standards.
- Conduct site inspections to verify adherence to engineering design specifications and provide support to contractors on project designs.- Apply principles, theories, and techniques of electrical energy systems, including circuit and network analysis, in the design of electrical distribution systems.
- Stay informed on trends and advancements in electrical engineering, renewable resources, and sustainable technology, participating in discussions with industry professionals in electrical energy and lighting systems.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, with a minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience, including proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
Additional Experience:
- Proven understanding of electrical safety standards and energy regulations, including NESC, IEEE, NEC, ASHRAE, and IECC; knowledge of grounding and bonding protocols; and experience with Arc Flash Calculations in electrical engineering.
