Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our team at the Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Director's Office, ensuring the smooth operation of daily tasks and projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the Executive Director and Deputy Director, including recordkeeping, document generation, data tracking, and follow-up.
  • Greets visitors, provides information, and directs them to appropriate staff members.
  • Prepares and composes letters, memorandums, and reports, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Receives, sorts, and distributes departmental mail, orders office supplies, and maintains filing systems.
  • Schedules meetings and ensures attendees are aware of the meeting details.
  • Supports other AMHA departments as needed and stands in at the front desk when staff is absent.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience as an administrative assistant or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in email, calendaring, internet, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
