Job Summary:

Atlas is a nationwide leader in civil engineering, materials testing, and geotechnical consulting services for environmental, industrial, and infrastructure construction projects. We are seeking a skilled CM Level 1 Inspector to join our Birmingham, AL team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections and testing on highway construction and/or vertical construction projects to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify and resolve quality control issues.
  • Develop and implement quality assurance plans to ensure project deliverables meet client expectations.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams on materials testing, inspection, and geotechnical consulting services.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements:

  • High School (general studies) degree required.
  • 1-3 years of progressive experience as a technician on highway construction and/or vertical construction projects or an equivalent combination of training and directly related experience.
  • Experience in construction inspection, surveying, or highway materials testing and inspection is preferred.
  • Willing to work outdoors in all kinds of weather.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Possess a valid state driver's license.

Technical Requirements:

  • Possess or able to achieve various inspection certifications such as Asphalt Level I Laboratory Technician Certification, Certified Concrete Technician (ACI and ALDOT Certification), Roadway HMA Pavement Technician Certification, Work Zone Safety Certification, Radiological Safety Course Certification, and Qualified Credentialed Inspector (QCI) Contract Plan Reading Certification.
