Lodestar Consulting is a fast-growing small business seeking a dynamic Federal Senior Audit Analyst to support the Department of the Navy (DON). As a key member of our team, you will provide superior support to our clients and contribute to our long-term success.

  • Support the Department of the Navy (DON) General Fund and Working Capital Fund audit response, audit remediation, internal controls, financial processes, and/or accounting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Statements of Federal Financial Accounting Standards (SFFAS), and/or relevant Department of the Treasury and Office of Management and Budget (OMB) policies.
  • Execute day-to-day research, analysis, and communication at the direction of the Team Lead.
  • Utilize data analysis technology to analyze information.
  • Demonstrate excellent writing and communication skills as significant time is spent drafting/updating communication artifacts (e.g., Standard Operating Procedures, Desktop Guides, whitepapers).
  • Demonstrate strong customer service skills and the ability to work in occasional high-pressure situations with short deadlines.
  • Direct and review the work of Analysts.
  • Communicate the status of project-related tasks to the Team Lead.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS/BBA degree from an accredited college/university.
  • Minimum of 2.5 years of progressive, relevant experience.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in federal/DoD financial statement auditing, audit remediation, or audit readiness.
  • Experience with Fund Balance with Treasury (FBWT) reconciliations and Financial Reporting.
  • Experience working with DFAS reporting policy and procedures.
  • Experience working with DoD's Advanced Analytics (Advana) platform.
  • Experience working with DoD disbursing operations.
  • Ability to independently research data reconciling variances.
  • Experience researching and applying FASAB, OMB, and Treasury requirements including OMB Circular A-136, and/or the Treasury Financial Manual.
  • Proficient skills in MS Excel.
  • Experience with SharePoint, SQL, ACL Analytics, Python, and/or Access databases.
  • CPA or eligibility to sit for CPA certification.
  • Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM), Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or other professional certification.

Education:

  • Experience working with the Federal Government and/or DoD clients.
  • CPA or eligibility to sit for CPA certification.

Security Clearance:

  • Must have or the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance (requires US Citizenship).
