Job Summary:

SPECTRAFORCE is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing scalable, efficient, and secure software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Collaboration: Collaborate with local and partner teams to design and develop software solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Agile Development: Participate in agile development and planning processes to ensure timely delivery of high-quality software.
  • Code Development: Write maintainable, easy-to-understand code for RESTful Services, event-driven systems, databases, and cloud infrastructure following secure coding practices.
  • Engineering Principles: Demonstrate a foundational understanding of engineering standards, concepts, and principles to solve practical business needs.
  • System Design: Design complex systems at the organization level with up/downstream dependencies and understand business metrics for the organization.
  • Mentorship: Mentor other engineers and help them split larger designs into individual work units.
  • Testing: Design and validate all scenarios conform to code quality through complete and automated unit, functional, integration, and end-end testing.
  • Performance Optimization: Identify and prevent performance issues, optimize solutions and infrastructure, and lead cross-functional troubleshooting.
  • Instrumentation: Instrument code appropriately, creating custom metrics, alerts, and dashboards.
  • Engineering Best Practices: Ensure adherence to Engineering best practices across the entire solution.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other software engineers on design and best practices and conduct code reviews.
  • Process Adjustment: Understand tradeoffs in types of engineering processes and adjust a team process to meet the project's needs.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in CS, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  • 6+ years of professional experience in developing REST-ful services and Event-driven applications
  • Solid foundation in software engineering practices, data modeling, object-oriented analysis and design, design patterns, and algorithms
  • Experience using Go Lang, Java,.Net or other object-oriented program languages
  • Experience using AWS services such as ECS, Fargate, Elastic Cache Redis, DynamoDB, Lambda, CloudFormation, etc., or features on other similar cloud hosted platforms.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Docker and open source software development.
  • Familiarity with test automation and CI/CD pipeline
  • Familiarity with ops tools such as New Relic and Splunk
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information to nontechnical audiences
  • Passion for new technologies, operational excellence and customer impact.
