About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aquatics Recreation Specialist to join our team at Foothills Park & Recreation District. As a key member of our aquatics team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our indoor and outdoor pools, ensuring the delivery of high-quality aquatic programs and services to our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of aquatic programs and services, including swim lessons, recreation programs, and special events.
  • Supervise and train aquatic staff, including lifeguards, instructors, and maintenance personnel.
  • Ensure the maintenance and upkeep of pool facilities, including water chemistry testing, equipment maintenance, and safety inspections.
  • Coordinate and schedule pool rentals, events, and programs, ensuring efficient use of facilities and resources.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports for aquatic programs and services.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to promote aquatic programs and services, and to ensure alignment with district goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Aquatics Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of direct supervisory experience in an aquatic facility, including pool equipment operation, staff training, and supervision.
  • Current Lifeguarding (CPR/AED, O2, First Aid), Lifeguarding Instructor, and Certified Pool Operator or Aquatic Facility Operator certifications.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of aquatic safety devices, water chemistry principles, and pool operations.
