Position Overview
As an Early Childhood Educator at Learn and Play Montessori School, you will embody warmth, patience, and empathy in the classroom daily. Our focus is on fostering an environment where children can learn, play, and develop. Our Montessori + STEMTM integrated curriculum encourages social, physical, verbal, and cognitive growth, inspiring children to become lifelong learners. Our educators are dedicated to the success of their school and understand that building meaningful connections with children, families, and colleagues is vital to that success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish a secure, nurturing atmosphere conducive to learning and play
- Collaborate with parents to ensure optimal care and education for their children
- Enhance your effectiveness by working alongside center staff and leadership to meet objectives related to enrollment, accreditation, growth, and engagement
- Foster positive relationships with families, educators, state licensing authorities, community contacts, and corporate partners
- Deliver the Learn and Play Montessori School Montessori + STEMTM curriculum tailored to the unique needs of each child
- A supportive organization with opportunities for advancement
- Hourly wage ranging from $23 to $27, based on qualifications and experience

- Completion of 12 core ECE Units in Infant/Toddler Education or an AA Degree in Child Development

- Ability to assist with diaper changes and potty training as per the child's readiness
- CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain
- Active Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential or willingness to pursue
- Proficient in basic computer skills
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
- Capable of working both indoors and outdoors
- Ability to engage with children at their level physically and visually
- Effective communication skills in English, both written and spoken, to interact with children and their families

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand, talk, hear, and may occasionally walk or sit on the floor, depending on the age of the children. The employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs and, on occasion, up to 20 feet, such as books and supplies or student equipment. The employee may need to bend or twist at the neck more than average, lift arms to write on a chalkboard, and occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach above head. The employee is directly responsible for the safety, well-being, and productivity of others.
