The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Family Advocate to support the Early Head Start and Head Start programs. The successful candidate will work closely with families and staff to ensure compliance with the Head Start Program Performance Standards and provide exceptional support to families in achieving their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Entry and Monitoring: Maintain accurate and organized electronic and hard copy files for each participant, conduct quarterly audits, and utilize ChildPlus software for data entry, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Meetings and Family Engagement: Facilitate and coordinate parent meetings, deliver a research-based parent curriculum, and work closely with center parents and guardians to provide resources and referrals.
  • ERSEA: Assist with recruitment and enrollment activities, conduct agency/Head Start enrollments, and acquire family consent and intake information.
  • Collaboration: Build strong relationships with center staff, review documentation for completeness and accuracy, and participate in interdisciplinary department staff meetings.
Requirements
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Team-oriented and able to work autonomously.
  • Proficient in Google Suites and Microsoft Suites.
  • Minimum of AA degree (B.A. preferred) coursework in ECE or related fields.
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish required.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and meet multiple deadlines.
