This is a rewarding opportunity for a skilled VDI Administrator to engage in advanced tasks including the design, delivery, maintenance, administration, and innovation of Virtual Desktop systems. This role ensures alignment with strategic goals, business needs, and management priorities. Responsibilities include managing the systems lifecycle, which encompasses analysis, design, implementation, integration, evaluation, testing, documentation, training, monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, administration, and security of infrastructure, systems, services, and applications. Candidates with expertise in VDI are highly encouraged to consider this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • VDI Infrastructure Setup and Configuration: Responsible for the design, implementation, administration, and support of the virtual desktop infrastructure, including VMware data-center products and related components.
  • User Access and Management: Manage user profiles, roles, and groups in the virtual desktop environment, ensuring appropriate permissions and data storage.
  • Virtual Desktop Deployment and Maintenance: Oversee the design and administration of virtual desktops, including template creation and application updates to optimize user experience.
  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor the virtual desktop environment to enhance efficiency and resolve issues, coordinating with teams as necessary.
  • Innovation: Conduct assessments and design reviews to gather information on current environments and evaluate new technologies for future needs.
  • Documentation and Training: Develop comprehensive documentation for the VDI environment and train staff to ensure effective troubleshooting and user experience.
  • Disaster Recovery Participation: Engage in planning and documentation to ensure preparedness for unexpected events impacting system availability.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a focus in data processing, computer science, or a related field.
  • Five years of experience with Desktop Virtualization Technologies, such as VMware Horizon View or Citrix.
  • Three years of experience in Windows system administration, including server operating systems and Active Directory.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications such as VMware Certified Professional - Desktop and Mobility (VCP-DTM), MCSE, CompTIA Server+, Security+, etc.
  • Experience with scripting and automation, particularly using PowerShell and task scheduling.
