Sonnets Academy is in search of a dedicated full-time Early Childhood Lead Educator to become a vital part of our Infant Classroom. This nurturing and patient individual should possess creativity and a deep passion for Early Childhood Education.


The Early Childhood Lead Educator will be responsible for designing their own curriculum lessons that align with our developmental goals, while also fostering effective communication with parents regarding their child's progress, schedules, and individual achievements. This role involves collaboration with the Director, Education Coordinator, and fellow team members within the infant classrooms. You will contribute to a child-centered, play-based curriculum that reflects best practices in early childhood education.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement age-appropriate curriculum that encourages a structured and play-based learning environment.
  • Organize indoor and outdoor play areas to promote creative play, motor skills development, and safe peer interactions.
  • Maintain a secure and well-organized classroom that supports each child's independent learning journey.
  • Evaluate and document progress using curricular checklists, anecdotal notes, and narratives throughout the year.
  • Address the holistic needs of each child, supporting their social and emotional development.
  • Guide, mentor, and instruct Associate Teachers and Assistant Teachers to ensure an effective classroom environment.
  • Participate in collaborative meetings with age group teams, whole staff, and classroom teams.
  • Establish and uphold respectful relationships with children, parents, staff, and community members through courteous and confidential communication.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of developmentally appropriate practices for infants aged 9 months to 18 months.
  • Experience in creating curriculum for this age group.
  • Team-oriented with a willingness to collaborate with others.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proactive and positive communication abilities.
  • Minimum of one year of professional experience in an infant classroom setting.
  • Compliance with all City and State licensing requirements.
