Overview:
This pivotal supervisory position is essential for aiding the Banquet Manager in the effective management and operational delivery of Banquet and Meeting events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assume full responsibility and ownership of an event from the initial planning and preparation stages, through to successful execution and post-event activities.
- Ensure the department remains clean and organized at all times.
- Foster and support effective communication within the department and across the hotel.
- Maintain confidentiality and secure record-keeping for both associates and guests.
- Possess comprehensive knowledge of forecasting, scheduling, and payroll procedures.
Required Knowledge:
Understand the CI and accounts receivable systems; stay informed about scheduled in-house group names and details; manage the order of service and traffic flow during events; correctly use and maintain equipment; adhere to departmental standards and service protocols; and be aware of pricing for specific cash functions.
- Participate in or lead all meetings as directed by the Banquet Manager.
- Keep Event Orders updated and accurate.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of daily reports.
- Delegate primary and secondary duties to staff members while providing coaching and support.
- Stay informed about current trends to offer the latest products and services.
- A commitment to excellence as a standard.
- A minimum of 3 years of banquet experience, ideally in a four-diamond establishment.
- At least 1 year of supervisory experience in a hotel environment.
- Eligibility to serve alcoholic beverages in accordance with state regulations.
- Familiarity with various food-service styles.
- Strong computer skills for administrative tasks.
- Ability to effectively communicate in English with guests, management, staff, and colleagues.
