Overview:


This pivotal supervisory position is essential for aiding the Banquet Manager in the effective management and operational delivery of Banquet and Meeting events.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assume full responsibility and ownership of an event from the initial planning and preparation stages, through to successful execution and post-event activities.
  • Ensure the department remains clean and organized at all times.
  • Foster and support effective communication within the department and across the hotel.
  • Maintain confidentiality and secure record-keeping for both associates and guests.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge of forecasting, scheduling, and payroll procedures.

Required Knowledge:

Understand the CI and accounts receivable systems; stay informed about scheduled in-house group names and details; manage the order of service and traffic flow during events; correctly use and maintain equipment; adhere to departmental standards and service protocols; and be aware of pricing for specific cash functions.


  • Participate in or lead all meetings as directed by the Banquet Manager.
  • Keep Event Orders updated and accurate.
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of daily reports.
  • Delegate primary and secondary duties to staff members while providing coaching and support.
  • Stay informed about current trends to offer the latest products and services.
Qualifications:

  • A commitment to excellence as a standard.
  • A minimum of 3 years of banquet experience, ideally in a four-diamond establishment.
  • At least 1 year of supervisory experience in a hotel environment.
  • Eligibility to serve alcoholic beverages in accordance with state regulations.
  • Familiarity with various food-service styles.
  • Strong computer skills for administrative tasks.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English with guests, management, staff, and colleagues.
