Job Summary

Atrium Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Radiation Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our Radiation Oncology department, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the department, supervising radiation therapists, and ensuring the highest level of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and manage a team of radiation therapists to ensure efficient and effective treatment delivery.
  • Oversee department operations, including staff scheduling, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure high-quality patient care and safety.
  • Collaborate with physics and physician teams to ensure accurate and effective treatment planning and delivery.
  • Monitor and analyze departmental productivity and budgetary performance.
  • Provide training and education to staff on new technologies and procedures.
  • Act as a liaison between therapy staff and other hospital departments to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Completion of an AMA-approved School of Therapeutic Radiology required.
  • ARRT registry required; 5 years of experience as a Radiation Therapist required.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make decisions quickly.
Physical Requirements

This position requires extensive periods of standing, walking, bending, stretching, and lifting. Must be able to push, pull, and lift weights of up to 35 pounds with assistance. Must be able to speak and understand English. Critical thinking and ability to concentrate are essential. Must be able to respond quickly and make decisions to changes in the department. Exposure to radiation, pathogens, and hazardous materials is a requirement of this position.
