Position Overview

Role Summary
The incumbent will be accountable for the precise planning and administration of radiation therapy to patients, utilizing ionizing radiation as per the directives provided by Radiation Oncologists, and under the direct oversight of the Chief Therapist.
Key Responsibilities
- Administers radiation treatment to patients in compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Monitors equipment performance, documents any malfunctions, and is well-versed in emergency and safety protocols related to all apparatus.
- Maintains thorough medical records and schedules for treatments.
- Enters treatment and simulation billing information into the Aria system.
- Documents patient treatment records meticulously.
- Understands emergency and fault procedures for linear accelerators and simulators.
- Identifies and reports patient concerns and physical issues to the relevant personnel.
- Effectively communicates treatment instructions and procedures to patients and their families.
- Ensures a clean and organized clinical environment.
Physical Demands
This position requires a combination of walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling. The ability to lift and support up to 35 pounds is necessary for handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies. Proficiency in English is required, along with intact senses of sight, hearing, smell, and touch. Finger dexterity, critical thinking skills, and the ability to concentrate are essential. The role demands quick responses and decision-making abilities in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications
The candidate must be a graduate of an AMA-accredited Therapeutic Radiology program or an equivalent international institution. Registration with ARRT is required, or the candidate must be registry-eligible and pass the registry within the first 90 days of employment. BLS certification is mandatory as per policy guidelines.
