Overview

The English department at Apap365 is currently inviting applications for a Full-time English teaching role anticipated to commence in the upcoming academic year. The core English curriculum encompasses materials crafted by faculty members and integrates elements from composition, rhetoric, research, literary analysis, performance, and multi-modal literacies. Elective courses are available in diverse topics such as gender studies, film studies, poetry, graphic novels, theater, and speculative fiction, among others. The selected candidate will be tasked with delivering the curriculum while also engaging in the ongoing development and enhancement of departmental courses.

Responsibilities

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

  • Teaching core English courses, including foundational courses in composition and literature.
  • Providing guidance and tutoring to students outside of class hours.
  • Engaging in curriculum and assessment development within the department.
  • Collaborating closely with colleagues teaching the same courses and working on departmental initiatives.
  • Participating in departmental and faculty meetings, faculty development programs, and community engagement days.
  • Involvement in non-teaching activities that support departmental and organizational programs.
  • Active participation in external professional organizations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

Work is conducted in an office environment with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards. Significant time is spent on computer-related tasks. This role typically requires mobility, effective written and verbal communication, as well as hearing and visual capabilities. Compensation

This is a full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package, including health and retirement benefits. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications, educational background, and experience.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Master's degree in English or a related field.
  • Effective communication skills with students, staff, and parents.
  • Active participation in a collaborative team environment.
  • Engagement in reflective professional practice.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for working in a team setting, with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, administrators, students, parents, and the public.
  • An appreciation and understanding of working with diverse populations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in curriculum design.
  • Prior teaching experience at the high school or higher education level.
