ABOUT YOU

We are seeking a seasoned and proficient Accountant who is eager to take on a crucial role that will significantly influence our financial operations while offering opportunities for advancement. Your extensive expertise will be vital in managing our financial processes effectively. You are meticulous and possess a robust accounting background, demonstrating a strong commitment to delivering accurate and precise financial reports.

ROLE DETAILS:

Job Type: Part-time, flexible hours
Location: Hybrid, based in Austin, TX. Flexibility in schedule is provided, with occasional onsite availability required.

Compensation: $35 - $40 per hour, commensurate with experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee all functions within the accounting department, including accounts payable, general ledger management, cost accounting, accounts receivable, revenue recognition, and inventory accounting.
  • Manage the month-end accounting close process.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements while preparing and publishing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Collaborate with HR on payroll matters, ensuring accurate payroll entries.
  • Lead accounts payable and disbursement processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing to enhance cash management and mitigate operational risks.
  • Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts, performing reconciliations and financial analysis to identify variances.
  • Establish and manage sales tax obligations, ensuring timely payments on a quarterly and monthly basis.
  • Monitor the company accounting email correspondence and respond appropriately.
  • Maintain an effective system of internal controls to ensure data integrity, asset protection, and adherence to corporate policies.
  • Perform data entry and maintain accurate financial records.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA designation is a plus.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant experience; experience in manufacturing or startup environments is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple time-sensitive tasks and meet deadlines independently.
  • A strong desire for both professional and personal development.
