Job Summary

Vinson & Elkins seeks a skilled Conference Operations Manager to oversee the planning and execution of various activities in our Conference Centers and planned events. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills to ensure seamless operations and exceptional client experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise day-to-day operations of the Conference Services Department, including planning work schedules and monitoring employee performance.
  • Ensure staff have updated qualifications and catering certificates.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, licensing laws, and other legal regulations.
  • Work with Coordinators to supervise the Conference Center and coffee bars, evaluating conference rooms and facilities for problems and supervising maintenance, supplies, and furnishings.
  • Plan and execute internal and external events, including meeting with clients and vendors, designing menus, and deciding on event space layout.
  • Liaison with Facilities, IT, and building management for special events.
  • Update catering manual and train employees on ordering and executing catering needs and events.
  • Prepare evaluations for direct reports and gather input from evaluators.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods is required.
  • Occasional overtime may be required.
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds without assistance is necessary.
