Job Summary

The YMCA of the USA is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Beacons School Success Program Staff. This role is responsible for assisting with the facilitation of after-school and/or summer programming at one of our 8 Beacons School Success Centers located in Minneapolis, St. Paul, and Richfield.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of program activities, events, and special programs for kindergarten-12th grade youth and their families.
  • Provide a safe and enjoyable experience for all program participants, ensuring a high level of customer service to youth, families, community partners, and school staff.
  • Foster a safe and respectful environment within a diverse community of youth, families, volunteers, and partner agencies, adhering to YMCA Youth Development best practices and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with a team to facilitate program activities, including event planning, special programs, and activities as required by supervisor.
Requirements
  • Minimum age of 14.
  • Willingness to work with people of diverse populations.
  • Excellent interpersonal communications and mediation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Multilingual.
  • Specialized skills to teach youth, such as dance, music, computer skills, art, or sports.
Work Environment

This role requires the ability to move throughout a school building regularly throughout the day, actively participate in youth games/activities, and work in a variety of environments, including quiet work areas and busy, noisy indoor and outdoor spaces.

Compensation

The salary for this position starts at $10.04 hourly, with consideration given to an individual's background and experience in determining salary. The compensation package includes a range of benefits and earned time off, varying depending on part-time or full-time status.
