POSITION TITLE: Access Specialist

REPORTS TO: Access Specialist Coordinator

WORKSITE: Omaha, Nebraska

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Access Specialist plays a vital role within our legal team, focusing on two primary areas: client intake and outreach. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding communication skills, a strong commitment to serving immigrant communities, and fluency in multiple languages, including Spanish.


CORE FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

  • Client Intake and Case Management
    • Conduct intake assessments via phone and in-person events to evaluate eligibility for legal services.
    • Collaborate with legal representatives to ensure appropriate case referrals.
    • Gather and document client information accurately in our case management systems.
    • Schedule and coordinate consultations with legal staff.
    • Provide clients with relevant legal information and follow up with necessary documentation.
    • Adapt to evolving procedures and guidelines.
  • Client and Community Outreach
    • Engage with community partners to identify service needs and facilitate referrals.
    • Assess and report on the unmet needs within immigrant communities.
    • Educate clients and the public about available programs and resources.
    • Build and maintain relationships with local organizations that support immigrants.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-3 years of experience in customer service, nonprofit work, or related fields.
  • Proven ability to interpret in Spanish, both written and orally.
  • Strong dedication to the mission of serving immigrant populations.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse communities.
  • Proficiency in Office 365 applications and willingness to learn new software.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated reliability and flexibility in a dynamic work environment.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • This position involves regular desk work, utilizing a computer and phone.
  • Standard work hours are Monday through Thursday, with no weekend obligations.

COMPENSATION:

  • Annual salary of $47,000, based on experience.
