Job Summary

This key leadership role will oversee the development and implementation of technology-enhanced learning environments, tools, and services to support the educational mission of the Commonwealth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of learning technologies specialists in providing faculty-facing services for various digital learning platforms, including learning management systems, video conferencing tools, and content management systems.
  • Develop and deliver professional development workshops, on-demand training, and one-on-one consultations to support faculty in effectively using technology-enhanced learning tools.
  • Provide technical expertise to resolve complex support requests and contribute to the development of documentation and knowledge base resources.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze usage patterns, system logs, and other data to inform strategic decisions about the digital learning ecosystem.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, developers, and external user communities to stay current with emerging technologies and trends.
  • Supervise and mentor team members, providing coaching and support to ensure effective team performance and collaboration.
  • Participate in committees and working groups to coordinate efforts with other leaders and stakeholders, and establish productive working relationships with faculty leaders and departments across the Commonwealth.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, plus several years of experience in educational technology, customer support, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of technology-enhanced learning environments, tools, and services, as well as pedagogies in use in higher education.
  • Excellent written and oral communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse team environment, manage multiple priorities, and make data-informed decisions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree in a field related to information technology or education.
  • Demonstrated expertise in learning management systems, video capture and video conferencing tools, and other learning technologies.
  • Experience working with faculty to develop educational materials and designing effective workshops and professional development resources.
  • Supervisory experience or leadership of collaborative working groups.
