Description:

Inspirus' Refugee & Immigrant Services team provides services to refugees, asylees, and immigrants at any point in their journey to guide them on a path from surviving to thriving. The Preferred Communities Gap Services aims at providing gap services to ORR eligible populations. Under the supervision of the Gap Services Manager, the Gap Services Coordinator will plan, direct, and coordinate case management activities in Inspirus offices in Alabama & Tennessee.

Responsibilities:

  • Understands and is aware of all aspects of the Gap Services programs' contractual requirements.
  • Consistently stays abreast of all aspects and any changes in the program's contractual requirements.
  • Organizes and coordinates the programs' activities in compliance with all contract and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensures that clients receive the services outlined in the contracts.
  • Ensures that all services provided are properly documented and meet or exceed contract standards & guidelines.
  • Coordinates with community partners directly to ensure the provision of timely and appropriate Gap Services.
  • Coordinates with Gap Services Coordinator (East) & Gap Services Manager to ensure proper documentation through Extended Reach and adhering to contractual guidelines for enrollment.
  • Helps ensure the coordination and integration of services.
  • Coordinates program activities with related activities within the department to ensure efficiency and economy.
  • Participates in training and professional conferences to keep abreast of current trends.
  • Complies with the various federal, state, or local laws that apply to and regulate the job responsibilities.
  • Participates in training, fundraising events and other Inspirus activities and initiatives such as performance and quality improvement (PQI).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a human service field or an equivalent combination of education, experience, competencies, skills and knowledge that ensures the successful completing of the essential job responsibilities.
  • Four years of previous direct work experience in a culturally diverse environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to organize multiple client-related activities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Conviction about the capacity of people to grow and change.
  • Ability to set limits and maintain the helping role of the practitioner.
  • Excellent computer skills, accurate typing, and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must have the ability to communicate with all persons in a culturally competent manner.
  • Must be sensitive to the service population's cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
  • Must own a personal multi-passenger vehicle, hold a valid Alabama or Tennessee Driver's license and have personal auto insurance and a good driving record.
