Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare equipment, supplies, and resources for surgical procedures, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for patients and staff.
  • Collaborate with Registered Nurses and other healthcare professionals to implement a plan of care that prioritizes patient needs and integrates with the surgical team's goals.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure accurate and timely information exchange.
  • Maintain knowledge and skills to operate surgical equipment and instruments, adhering to aseptic technique and laboratory policies.
  • Document quality controls and patient information accurately, adhering to unit-specific standards.
  • Participate in problem-solving, conflict resolution, and team-building activities to promote a positive and efficient work environment.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a technical program for operating room technicians.
  • Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Tech in Surgery - Certified from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
