Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist I to join our team at Atlantic Health System. As a key member of our oncology pharmacy team, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to our mission of delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Therapy and Treatment Review: Conduct thorough reviews of patient plans to ensure they align with current clinical and institutional guidelines, as well as patient-specific criteria.
  • Medication Optimization: Identify treatment issues and medication misuse, and advise clinicians on drug selection to optimize drug therapy based on patient-specific considerations.
  • Medication Safety: Adhere to safety requirements in the handling and preparation of chemotherapy and other hazardous agents, ensuring compliance with current guidelines (USP 797, USP 800, ASHP, NIOSH).
  • Education and Training: Participate in educational activities, answer drug information questions, and contribute to the training and mentoring of other pharmacists and technicians.
  • Quality and Safety: Collaborate with the team to improve quality and safety initiatives in the outpatient infusion setting.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduation from an accredited school of pharmacy.
  • Licensure: Current NJ Board of Pharmacy license.
  • Experience: Works majority of time in a given specialty PLUS has more than 1 year of experience in a specialized area, or has a PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency, or has a PGY-2 Pharmacy Residency in a specialized area.
