We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at HCA Florida Northside Hospital. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing accurate and timely laboratory testing, ensuring the highest quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Perform complex laboratory testing, including blood bank, serology, chemistry, hematology, and microbiology
- Assume responsibility for the department in the absence of the supervisor, ensuring seamless operations
- Complete all required records and documentation, maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient results
- Perform stat procedures within established turnaround time targets, prioritizing urgent testing
- Correlate and interpret patient results, using good judgment and independent thinking
- Review pending logs and result logs, resolving any outstanding workload or communicating with staff relief
- Perform quality control procedures, handling problem and critical laboratory specimens/test results
- A 2-year/Associate Degree in Medical Technology or a related field is required
- A 4-year/Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology or a related field is preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Technologist is preferred
- A State of Florida Technologist License is required or the ability to obtain a license during the interview process
- Technologist License in one or more clinical specialty areas, including blood bank, serology, chemistry, hematology, and microbiology
