Your role in making a significant impact:

The Kaplan House (Manhattan) offers therapeutic and support services to adolescents aged 17-21 referred through various systems. Our residents have faced considerable trauma, leading to behavioral, emotional, and developmental challenges. Kaplan House provides a comprehensive independent living skills program, including vocational training and educational services to help youth achieve independence.

The Program Supervisor plays a crucial role within the Milieu Team. This position collaborates with the Senior Team Leader to oversee the Direct Support Professional staff. The Program Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations of the facility. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Supervising, in collaboration with the Senior Team Leader, the Direct Support Professional (DSP) staff and ensuring adequate program coverage.
  • Providing training and orientation for direct care staff.
  • Participating in weekly treatment team meetings, administrative meetings, staff meetings, and individual supervision of the Direct Support Professional staff.
  • Facilitating DSP Staff meetings alongside the Senior Team Leader.
  • Creating the weekly Direct Support Professional staff schedule two weeks in advance to ensure sufficient coverage.
  • Monitoring DSP engagement with residents to ensure assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Skills and Independent Living Skills.
  • Being an integral part of the Direct Support Professional hiring process and providing valuable input on final hiring decisions.
  • Collaborating with the Senior Team Leader, Assistant Director, and HR regarding staff disciplinary actions.
  • Regularly meeting with clinical and nursing staff to communicate any changes in client behavior or specific needs.
  • Participating in the intake process for new referrals.
  • Performing other assigned duties as necessary.
Qualifications:

The Jewish Board is seeking talented individuals from all backgrounds with the following qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required; a Master's in Human Services or a related field is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience working with at-risk youth, preferably in a residential environment.
  • A current, valid, and clean Driver's license is required for this position.
