Kaiser Permanente is seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist Level IV to join our team as a CT Specialist. As a key member of our Diagnostic Imaging department, you will be responsible for performing specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures using computed tomography (CT) equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform CT scans and other diagnostic imaging procedures to produce high-quality images for radiologists and physicians.
- Explain procedures to patients, ensuring their comfort and cooperation throughout the imaging process.
- Prepare and position patients for CT scans, using immobilization devices as needed to obtain optimal views.
- Determine exposure factors and adjust equipment controls to produce images of proper detail, density, and accuracy.
- Operate mobile radiologic equipment in various settings, including operating rooms, emergency rooms, and patient bedsides.
- Assist radiologists and other qualified physicians in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations.
- Prepare images for reading by radiologists or requesting physicians, ensuring proper identification and quality control.
- Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on radiologic equipment, arranging for repairs as needed.
- Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff.
- Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed.
- Orient new hires and train students in CT scanning procedures and protocols.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a Specialty (CT) or one year of experience in a Specialty with an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification in that Specialty.
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
- Certified Radiologic Technologist - Fluoroscopy Certificate (California) and Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate (California) required.
- Basic Life Support certification required.
- Ability to perform all general diagnostic and routine fluoroscopic duties on patients of all ages.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to effectively present information to individuals and groups with varying knowledge of Radiology services.
