About the Role:

Kaiser Permanente is seeking a highly skilled Mammography Technologist Level IV to join our team in San Francisco, California.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Imaging Services Director and Chief of Diagnostic Imaging, the successful candidate will perform radiographic diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures.
  • Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.
  • Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified areas of the body.
  • Determine exposure factors based on height, weight, portion of body involved, and degree of penetration required.
  • Operate mobile radiologic equipment in operating rooms, emergency rooms, or at patients' bedsides.
  • Assist radiologists and other qualified physicians in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations.
  • Prepare images for reading by radiologists or requesting physicians.
  • Process images and review for proper identification and quality control.
  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on radiologic equipment.
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff.
  • Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed.
  • Orient new hires and train students.
  • Fulfill supervisory responsibilities as needed.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in a Specialty Mammography or one year of experience in a Specialty with an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification in that Specialty.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Fluoroscopy Certificate (California).
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate (California).
  • Basic Life Support.
  • Ability to perform all general diagnostic and routine fluoroscopic duties on patients of all ages.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information to individuals and groups with varying knowledge of Radiology services.
