About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Duke Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the advancement of healthcare.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate x-ray equipment to produce high-quality radiographs of designated anatomical areas, adhering to radiation safety guidelines and best practices.
  • Position patients for each anatomical view, using positioning assistance devices and protective equipment as necessary, to ensure accurate and safe imaging.
  • Monitor and maintain accessory equipment, assist physicians with fluoroscopic procedures, and perform special radiographic procedures as required.
  • Process images for optimal quality, matching them with appropriate paperwork for interpretation, and demonstrate a high level of technical expertise.
  • Charge radiographic procedures accurately, modify orders per protocol, and maintain acceptable film quality standards.
  • Understand and utilize the Image Archival System to ensure seamless image management and retrieval.
  • Provide education and training to affiliated radiology technology programs, as well as orientation to new technologists, to promote knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work, as required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Completion of an AMA-approved School of Radiology Technology or AART Certification.
  • ARRT certification within one year of employment (Level I), or a minimum of two years' experience as a diagnostic radiology technologist (Level II), or a minimum of 4 years' experience within a specialty modality (Level III).
  • BLS certification.
