MRI Imaging Specialist

EmergeOrtho is a leader in comprehensive musculoskeletal care, with offices across North Carolina. We are seeking a skilled MRI Imaging Specialist to join our team. As an MRI Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) procedures to assist in the diagnosis of disease and injury.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures.
- Place additional coils and/or immobilize patients as required for the exam.
- Assist physician during the administration of contrast media and practice medical and surgical aseptic procedures as required.
- Monitor patients for allergic reactions and respond appropriately.
- Determine imaging factors based on the type of scan and patient characteristics.
- Thoroughly explain the process and procedure to patients to alleviate anxiety and facilitate patient cooperation.
- Conduct examinations with regard to the patient's age, medical condition, or other special requirements.
- Screen patients and any visitors outside of the magnetic field before the exam for any precautions or contraindications pertaining to the exam.
- Routinely prepare exams for interpretation by the radiologist to include correct identification and film processing, adequate clinical history, and previous exams for comparison if available.
Requirements
- High school degree or equivalent required.
- AA/AS or BA/BS preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited MRI technologist training program.
- Minimum of one year of experience performing magnetic resonance imaging procedures.
- Current CPR certification.
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologist registration preferred.
- Licensure and/or certification as required by the State of North Carolina.
